Restoring the 'Windows Picture and Fax Viewer' as your default program
Instructions for XP computers.
If you have installed third party picture viewers such as Adobe, Irfanview, The Gimp,
Kodak, Canon, Nikon, etc., they will very likely become your default Viewer.
Some of these are slow and cumbersome as picture viewers.
If you wish to get back to the 'Windows Picture Viewer' as your default program,
then follow these simple steps;-
For XP based computers, click on:- 'My Computer' - 'Tools' - 'Folder Options', 'File Types'
then under 'Extensions' scroll down to 'JPEG'.
If you want to change the current default 'File Type' then click on the 'Change' button and select
'Windows Picture and Fax Viewer'. - 'OK'.
Do this again for JPG, or any other file extension required.
Instructions for Vista computers
If you have a Vista computer then open
'Control Panel' click on 'Classic View' (on the left) then click on the 'Default Programs' icon.
scroll down to 'jpeg.'
If the 'Current Default' does not read ' Windows Photo Gallery' then
click on the 'Change Program' button above and select 'Windows Photo Gallery' OK
Do this again for jpg, etc. From now on all your Pictures will open In Windows.
